​3. Student is pursuing a degree in agriculture, education, or nursing at either a two-year or four-year college.

Thursday, November 23rd is a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at McAllister Catering & Heritage Events Center serving from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Menu includes Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Dressing, Green Bean Casserole, Corn, Cranberry, Assorted Salads, Dinner Roll, Coffee, Water, and Assorted Desserts. Adults: $12.50, Ages 6-10 yrs: $7.50, Ages 3-5 yrs: $4.50 and Carryouts Available.
Closed evening of Thanksgiving Day.

The Cresco Dementia Caregiver Support Group meets the first Friday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Cresco Public Library Program Room (downstairs).

Cresco Public Library is handicap-accessible.

The Cresco Dementia Caregiver Support Group is available for people to build a support system with people who understand the challenges inherent in dementia care-giving. The Alzheimer's Association caregiver support groups, conducted by trained facilitators, are a safe place for caregivers, family and friends of people with dementia to develop a support system, exchange practical information on care-giving challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns, and learn about community resources.

This program is presented by the Alzheimer's Association East Central Iowa Chapter. For more information, please contact their office at: 319-294-9699.

Fruit and vegetable growers and other interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices, and co-management of natural resources and food safety should make plans to attend an upcoming Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training course.

 

This course is one way to satisfy the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement outlined in §112.22(c) that requires “At least one supervisor or responsible party for your farm must have successfully completed food safety training or at least equivalent to that received under standardized curriculum recognized as adequate by the Food and Drug Administration.”

Registration and payment can be completed through the Safe Produce website, https://www.safeproduce.cals.iastate.edu/events. To register and pay by check, email Iowafsma@iastate.edu, or call 515-294-6773 to request a paper registration form.
